Iben & Kenneth, Wedding in Hulsig kirke, 05 september-2009

I always work very hard for my clients, to give them the best possible photos wether it’s an OSCARSSON-real life portrait session or a wedding. Last saturday I worked harder than ever before, don’t get me wrong, as I said I always work hard, but the 5th of september just had a different pace than what is normal. Since I have a background as a newspaper photographer I’m used to work under chaotic, stressful and otherwise less than optimal situations. And I’m really glad for that.
Saturdays wedding was not more chaotic or stressful than other weddings ;-) and I actually believe that with my style of working every wedding is held in an optimal situation… Since I show up and capture what happens and then I build an album that tells the story of the day.
But, This wedding was filled with guests no taller than an average persons waistline, you guessed it, KIDS!
There where something going on all the time and everyplace at the reception, and I loved every second of it.

And there where lots of them, For Iben and Kenneth, as well as their friends and familly, the children plays a very important and huge part of their lives. I’m sure most parents have it like that ( I know I have), but for their wedding Iben and Kenneth choose to make their wedding day a party not just for grown ups , but also for the children.

So they had me get out of bed really early and meet them in Skagen at 7 am to start working as they started preparing for the wedding ceremony that began 10 am.
They had planned the whole schedule for the day so that even the smallest ones would be able to come to and enjoy the party that was held in their really cool garden. The garden is very stylish and well planned and there is lots of room for the children to play.

I tell you I was crazy busy the whole day, and there wasn’t a second that I didn’t see wonderful image opportunities unfolding before me and there are lot’s of images from the day.
I’m always going for quality not quantity, if you ask my old boss from my photojournalistic days though, (who payed for the film at the time) he would probably tell you that I’m trigger happy, maybe I am but that doesn’t have to contradict the fact that I only go for the good shots. There are a term in the photo society that is called machine gunning, it’s when you shoot everything that moves with out planning or looking for the good images. That is not for me, I always work very calmly, watch and search for the beautiful and storytelling images but when I find them I usually shoot a couple of frames to get the decisive moment.
And when things unfold as they did saturday I shoot a lot of frames, simply because there are lots of stuff happening all the time.

I love my work and I love all of my clients for their trust in me to shoot their weddings and portraits the way I see them.

Thank you Iben and Kenneth for choosing me to be your wedding photographer.

I came home with lots of really good images and a good gut feeling that I had captured Iben’s and Kenneth’s day in the best way possible. It was really hard to choose any favorites but here are some of them, and below there is a looong slideshow for all of you hardcore weddingfans. :-)

Worth noting, as usual, all images except for the formal portraits of the wedding couple, are captured in real life and in chronological order, as I found them. Absolutely No staging, No posing, just moments captured in real life, just like I love it.

Enjoy!

September 10, 2009 - 17:12 Anna - Wow, that's definitely an interesting challenge.. not sure I'd be able to do that! :) You've captured it so wonderfully, all those great moments with kids! And as usual I really love all the detail shots!

September 28, 2009 - 17:20 Tanja - Kan tenke meg at det ble enda litt mer travelt enn vanlig ja, med masse minnier i tillegg, men det spiller jo ingen rolle for bildene ble super bra
